Since UGC-Academic Staff College, University of Calcutta, began its journey on October 08, 1990, it has persistently engaged itself in organizing increasing number of Orientation Programs, Refresher Courses, Seminars and Workshops with the objectives of helping the teachers discharge their professional commitments more effectively. Our functions have got a new dimension in the wake of the decision to make participation in these programs mandatory for the purpose of career advancement of teachers.

Academic Activities of ASC-CU (last 19 Years) 

 Infrastructural Facilities

Over the years UGC-ASC, CU, has built up reasonable infra-structural facilities in order to cater to the needs of our participant colleagues in OPs and RCs from different colleges and universities. We have a TV, and a VCR, four overhead projectors, three slide projectors, two microphones (including one cordless button microphone),  and a library having about 2500 volumes. We have two classrooms and the two office rooms, all air-conditioned. A burning problem is the lack of hostel facilities. With our existing facilities we can accommodate only a few participants at a time.

MAN-MACHINE INTERFACE LABORATORY

Over the years UGC-ASC, CU, has built up impressive infra-structural facilities in order to cater to the needs of our participant colleagues from different colleges and universities. The latest addition to our infra-structural facilities is the Man-Machine Interface Laboratory housing state–of-art equipment and software

UGC Academic Staff College, University of Calcutta is going to organize 6 Orientation Programs, 15 Refresher Courses and 6 Short Term Courses/Workshops in the financial year 2011-12. The schedule is given below.

Academic Programs for the Financial Year 2011-2012

Note: There may be changes in these schdules due to exigencies

Submission of Applications: Forms may be downloaded from our university website: caluniv.ac.in or obtained from our ASC office. Application must be duly forwarded and recommended by the Principal / Teacher –in –Charge of a college or the Registrar of a University. Last date of receiving application forms is May 20, 2011. Incomplete applications will not be accepted

Every participant is requested to retain a copy of the application form.

Every Participant shall have to pay a non – refundable Registration fee of Rs. 500/- at the time of admission.
The applicants selected for participation in an OP / RC will be intimated through mail. A list of selected participants will also be displayed on the notice board of the Academic Staff College.
