Bio
B.A. Honours in English (1987), Lady Brabourne College, University of Calcutta , M.A. in English, University of Calcutta ( 1989), Ph. D., University of Calcutta (1999), Title: ‘The Novels of Evelyn Waugh: The Art of Paradox’.
Sinjini Bandyopadhyay joined the University of Calcutta as a Lecturer in English in September 2003; she previously taught at the Department of English, Kalyani University ( February 1994 - September 2003). Former Head of the Department of English, University of Calcutta (2008 – 2010).
She completed a UGC -funded Minor Research Project (2002-2003) on ‘Autobiographical Writings by Women in Nineteenth and Early Twentieth Century Bengal’.
Edited a book jointly with Sumita Naskar titled ‘Race, Class and Gender: Literary & Cultural Representations’ (UGC, Academic Staff College and Department of English, University of Calcutta, February 2007).
Coordinator of the Postgraduate Diploma Course in Media Studies: Film & Television, Department of Journalism & Mass Communication, University of Calcutta.
She is a member of the Editorial Board, Global Media Journal- Indian Edition
