Year of Establishment


The Post Graduate Department of Physiology, Calcutta University was initiated in 1910 at Presidency College, Kolkata. Prof. S.C. Mahalanabish was the Honorary Head of the Department. In 1938 the Department was transferred to University College of Science (Rashbehari Siksha Prangan, 92, APC Road). This is the premier Department of Physiology as a basic science in British India
